EH Mix it Up - Love & Peace

A last-minute quick card for Ellen's Mix it Up Challenge with Lawn Fawn.

Yesterday, my set of Zig Art & Graphic markers arrived. These are waterbased markers with a thick, rubber tip - they are so bright and juicy! I have seen lots of people use these in lots of ways, but I immediately sat down and scribbled a quick rainbow on watercolour cardstock and then spritzed it. The colours ran and blended beautifully!

I felt like the rainbow was a throwback to the '60s, so I thought a love and peace theme would be fun. I wanted the panel to be my focal point so I used negative space (in dramatic black) and a white, inlaid die cut.

I'm looking forward to trying more techniques with these markers!

FS545 - Beautiful Birthday

Congratulations to this week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper Cindy (aka Weekend Warrior).

I chose this card as my inspiration:

I focused on Cindy's:
-rose theme
-black sentiment
-watercolour

I changed:
-technique (I inlaid the rose with watercoloured pieces)
-layout

I loved Cindy's 'messy', outside the lines watercoloured look, but mine didn't turn out as pretty, so I cut it out and inlaid the watercoloured pieces back into the outline die. I like to use Be Creative tape for that - it gives a sticky surface for all the little pieces to adhere to.

Here's a video of the watercolouring and inlaying processes:

CTD451, Muse 224 - Enjoy/Best Wishes

I've got 2 cards today, both using Catherine Pooler inks and stamps.

The first is for this week's Color Throwdown challenge.

I used the faux watercolour technique (ink up the stamp then mist with water before stamping) to create my 'watermelon slices'. I love how they have almost a tie-dye look!

Next, another card for this week's Muse challenge. I turned Tracey's layout on its side and used a rainbow of feathers and a die cut sentiment.

I used:
