Time Out #68 - Thanks!

I'm so excited to tell you that I have been chosen as a Guest Designer at Time Out Challenges! The theme is CASE with your own twist.

To create this card, I started with a watercolour panel and stamped the sentiment, so that I could ensure good spacing and placement of my flowers. To ink my flowers, I used my MISTI and layered different distress inks. I made sure that the stamp was wet before inking it, to help the colours blend on the watercolour paper. I love how you can see the yellows and oranges peeking through the red!

ETA (this is the same method I used yesterday, in my Muse card, but the cards were actually made a few weeks a part. This one has less water added, so the process gave me more control)

I finished the card by adding a gold glitter border and some die-cut dots in matching glitter paper.

I hope you'll join us - I can't wait to see how you're inspired by my card!

I used:
-Concord & 9th Flourish
-Concord & 9th Give Thanks
-Distress Ink (Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Candy Apple, Festive Berries, Crushed Olive, Painted Shutters, Pumice Stone)
-Penny Black Dots die

  1. we are so pleased that you are our very special GD an thank you for such an amazing card for us to CASE. I love the falling design and the touch of gold. I also love the colours of the flowers. I just read how you made yesterday's card and love that arty look. For today's card...did you ink the colours onto the stamp in different layers and then mist the stamp with water before stamping? Or did you mist the card after as today's looks a more controlled finish? Sorry with the queations but just got a mini misti (I blame...well thank Anita!!) and looking for any ideas I can get!)

  2. Hello Ardyth. This is my first appearance on the TO DT, and I am excited to be a part, and excited that you are the GD and creator of the inspiration piece. I have admired your work for a long time. I am curious about how you did the flowers as well. I colored my images with Zigs then misted them and stamped on water color card stock. I was trying to go for the look of your red posies. Thanks so much for your beautiful inspiration

  10. Most of the times I struggle with the Case-cards at Time OUT; they take more time to have an idea and make them, but with this so cheerfull one from you the idea came so quickly; all I wanted to use was the diagonal of your flowers and a big sentiment in between...
Made a card with my very own twist, just because I couln't think another way of using the flowers so perfectly placed as you did :)!
Thanks for being our "Casing-designer" at TIME OUT!
