CASology 37 - Hope!

Today's CASology Cue Card is Hope!

My nephew will be turning 8 soon. I HOPE that he'll love this Star Wars-themed card I've made for him. I KNOW he will love the light-up lightsabre popsicle making set I've bought him!

I know that really, Episode IV is A New HOPE, where Princess Leia begs "Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only HOPE!" (ah, if only we'd known that Alec Guinness would "grow up" to be Ewan McGregor! lol!). But it's more appropriate to use VIII (Memory Box Parker Caps) for this year (besides, there are 3 new episodes coming - I guess you know you've really, really made it when Disney buys you out! lol!).

The paper I used for the lightsabers is some opalescent Japanese stuff that really changes colours in the light, and the 'handles' are the Stampin' Up jewellery tag punch. I knew that to really show of these 'glowing' lightsabers, black was going to be my 'white space' this time!

Now it's your turn. I HOPE you can see that this (and every) cue card can take you in some unexpected directions. I really HOPE you'll play along this week - don't forget to link up before the deadline at 4:00 on Sunday afternoon.

Before you do, here are links to the blogs of the other Design Team members - go check out what Hope means to them!

  6. CLEVER! Love the Star Wars connection and especially that you've targeted this for your almost 8 yr. old nephew. He will be ecstatic when he receives this, and a keepsake to add to his treasure box of 'awesome gifts and cards' from Aunty Ardyth (savvy aunty +++). Thank you immensely for your comment on my Easter butterfly card. CAS cards - still wrapping my head around those. Your cards are so inspiring; I'm definitely learning from you that yes, white space is a 'good thing.' Have a wonderful day; hope spring has arrived in Eastern Canada. I think we're seeing peeps here in the west (so I HOPE!)

  23. Having never seen a star wars movie, I'll just have to take your word for what this means! Thanks for the explanation! It really is eye-catching!

  24. This is FANTASTIC ~ I know the perfect kid to CASE this one for!

  25. Awesome. What kid wouldn't love this? And by kid I also mean my husband. I showed him your card and mentioned what you said about 3 more movies coming out, and then he told me the year the first one should be released. I should have known there isn't any Star Wars information I could share that he didn't already know. :) But I am seriously considering recreating something like this for his birthday. Thanks for the great idea!

  26. Hmm, I must not have commented on this one. Logan (the 8 year old) was sitting with me when I was looking at it first, and he LOVED it. LOVED it. Such a clever, clever design. So appreciate the Roman numerals reference (and, Logan new what number it was!)
